Our Age Friendly Business Certification Program will be turning 20 in 2013!
Elders in Action has been a leader in educating and helping businesses on how to better serve a older customer but we can’t do it without our volunteer Age Friendly Business Evaluators. This program is a fun, flexible, and an enjoyable volunteer opportunity that will really open up your eyes to the ways that we can all make the Portland metropolitan area a more age friendly place. This position is ideal for someone who likes to shop and explore new businesses. As a trained evaluator, you will review the effectiveness of a business to serve an aging population. Your evaluation will provide feedback and continuous improvement information to business managements. We will be doing 2.5 hour training on November 29th from 10:00am – 12:30pm at the Elders in Action’s office. Volunteers are asked to perform 3-8 evaluations each year and many can be done while doing your normal daily tasks. Volunteers must be age 55+ yrs old and are at all levels of ability.
