Promote Safety In Your Neighborhood with Elders in Action
Interested in volunteering in your neighborhood?
Then consider becoming a Community Safety Advocate with Elders in Action!
This new program is a collaborative effort joining neighborhoods, police and the community together to provide citizens with more access to information.
There will be seven sites in Portland for Community Safety Advocates to use their skills and abilities.
Community Safety Advocates will:
• Partner with the Office of Neighborhood Involvement and the Portland Police Bureau to provide volunteer outreach services to targeted neighborhoods in the Portland area.
• Increase awareness and access to Portland Police Bureau services as well as Neighborhood Crime Prevention Programs.
• Develop and establish meaningful community relationships and volunteer opportunities.
• Conduct Aging Awareness training at each contact office
• Promote Emergency Registry Program for vulnerable populations.
Please consider this unique opportunity to be an active part in your community. For more information about this program and to sign up for the training in April, 2008, please contact: Jennifer Lawrence, Community Safety Program Coordinator at:
jennifer@eldersinaction.org, or (503) 595-7538.
