City of Portland 's Transportation Options is pleased to offer:
Senior Strolls 2008
Senior Strolls is a program designed to offer older adults an easy, pleasant, social walking experience, and to provide confidence to consider walking as a transportation option. Strolls range from 1 to 2 miles in length. The majority of 2008 strolls will be held in SW Portland; the last stroll of each month (except October) will highlight some of the best from previous years' strolls in other parts of Portland. Sunday Parkways are Good for Everyone!
6 miles, 6 hours, Zero Traffic!
Sunday, June 22nd
8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A circular route of city streets open to walk, bike, run, jump & skip - without having to watch out for cars! Six miles of local streets in North Portland will be closed to traffic from 8am-2pm
Older adults will have the chance to participate in many fun activities:
• A free pedometer at the Kaiser Town Hall activity area
• Free TriMet Travel Training on a bus at the Kaiser Town Hall
• Join a walk organized by Elders in Action!
• Participate in senior yoga and Tai Chi classes at Arbor Lodge Park
• Join the salsa dance lessons at Arbor Lodge Park
• Take a pedicab ride to another park on the route

Biking Is Back
Remember when you were a kid and heaven was eating ice cream & riding a bike? Take a slow-paced, enjoyable and social ride on Portland's paved car-free paths. Comfortable and stable three-wheeled bicycles will be ready & waiting. All you need to bring is yourself. Bikes and helmets are provided or you can use your own.
Bring water, sun screen, and $1.00 parking fee. Restrooms are available.
Location: Willamette Park, North Parking Lot, SW Macadam & Nebraska St.
Time & Dates: 9:00am - 11:00am; Mondays & Thursday, July 23 to September 25
Cost: $5 per ride
