Quality of life should never depend on age.

How do businesses become Elder Friendly® Business certified?

Businesses make a request to Elders in Action to be certified. A packet is sent that details the process and provides the fee information. Once the business decides to move forward a group of Elders in Action volunteer evaluators are assigned to the account.

After each evaluator has reviewed the business, the results are compiled and averaged. A comprehensive report is created and reviewed with the business owner/manager. During the review, evaluators provide feedback and suggestions to assist the owner/manager in developing a more elder friendly business. Upon conclusion of the meeting, a packet of information is left with the owner/manager. When the business achieves a passing score, it is issued an Elder Friendly window decal and a virtual decal to use on their website. Once issued, the business can display the decal in its window to publicize the fact that they are certified, as well as use the logo in printed advertisements and on the web.
