What is being evaluated?

The criteria have been developed through consumer focus group, studies on the older consumer and gerontology specialists. The main areas evaluated are:

  1. Access to the Site By Phone
  2. Physical Access to the Site
  3. Layout of the Site
  4. Customer Service
  5. Websites

Different criterion is used for service, retail and websites. Elders In Action evaluates only access to a business and customer service from an older adult perspective. The evaluation does not measure compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. We do not endorse or guarantee the services or products available from the businesses certified by our program.
